Really is a bugger that apple's so anti repair, but ill give the same argument for the repairability as for IO (a particularly strong case for the macbook pro): most pro users don't care about it being razor thin, or light as a feather. That's the air's purpose. People buying the pro want it to be able to do everything they need, including plugging into external devices, and being able to be used until the thing's within an inch of its life.

When putting down parts that you might be able to bump when your soldering, is it a good idea to put some kind of small dab of say glue to hold the piece in place while you're soldering?

Any ideas of what capacitors and resistors are used on these types of cartridges? I have read yhe resistors were 0402.

The way people treat their 500-600$ consoles is disgusting. If my kids ever treated their stuff like this I would never buy them anything again and they know it. The problem is parents think that giving stuff to their kids, that they buy on credit, is a substitute for good advice and proper parenting. I make my kids put some money towards the things they want and now they're mid teens they come to work with me a couple of mornings a week so they learn the value of money and just how long it takes to earn. They then appreciate that tech doesn't just drop through the letterbox and that it costs a lot of money!!!!!

Hey here's a pro tip for ya when dealing with the liquid metal around the apu die. Use a cotton swab doused in alcohol and use it to "sweep" up the liquid metal into a ball u can reclaim 99 percent of it this way and just push it back on to the die then spread with clean Qtip. I think that liquid sticky damage is bug piss 😂😂. Back in the early 2000's when i used to chip consoles for folds i would get some consoles that had hundreds of dead roaches in them like it would fill up my work table just disgusting.
